What's New at Gladden: Spring 2024

Each quarter, we share with our families, donors, and community a little more of what's happening at Gladden House and in the neighborhood or Franklinton. Whether it be a small token of gratitude or an invitation to ways you can help, here is our winter update for what's new at Gladden:

Chip-In For the Kids!

The first sign of spring at Gladden is signing up for our TopGolf outing! If you have a small business, or team and want to help raise funds for our Team Sport program, we would love to have you! Click this the link beloe for more details about our May 2 Chip-In Challenge...

Cheer on the CBJ

... If TopGolf isn’t your thing, there’s another sporting way you can support Gladden House this month. On March 17, the Columbus Blue Jackets take on the Winnipeg Jets and for every ticket sold, 10 to 20 dollars will be donated back to the organization and support a great cause! Click the link to purchase tickets and help support the families of Franklinton!

Stories of Impact: Brandon Barcus

Over decades, there have been so many families we’re proud to have served at Gladden Community House. And we love it when they stop by to tell us how our agency and the work we do have shaped them. Click here to read our latest Story of Impact with Brandon Barcus.

THANK YOU!

... to the good folks at Ohio Health's Population Health Program who made generous (and matched donations) last month to aid in Gladden's fight against food insecurity ...

... to Dublin Dublin Dance Centre & Gymnastics provides a weekly Creative Movement class for our preschoolers and Breakdancing class for our After School kids. The instructors, Amanda and Alex, have become an invaluable addition as a new Gladden partner. Movement based curriculum encourages creativity, promotes gross motor skills, fosters literacy development and provides a fun outlet for our kids. Dublin Dance has been part of Columbus for 40 years, and we welcome them as a friend of Gladden!

... to Nationwide Children's Residents for visiting our preschool and making a brilliant presentation for Black History Month!

... to Kroger and their Community Rewards program, through which Gladden received rounded up donations from 31 households from November to February. If you're a Kroger shopper, remember you can link your rewards card to our organization! Click the link for more info:

Preschool News: Stocking Up for Spring

Speaking of shopping, there is more than one way you can help the families or Franklinton through your own purchases! Right now, we're gearing up for the end of the school year and we're running low on essential supplies in our preschool! We've made it easy for donors who would like to directly offer support through our Amazon Wish List!

Afterschool News: Fun Times at Gravity Park

It was a mild winter but that didn’t keep our Afterchool program from having some cold-weather fun. Special thanks to the team at Land-Grant Brewing Co. for treating out kids to a few spins on their newly installed “ice bumper cars” at Gravity Park ... for those parents and families interested in joining our summer program, sign-up forms will be available in the front office after April 1 ...

Family to Family News: Parenting Classes Open to the Public

Parents interested in joining our parenting classed can do so by showing up at 1 p.m. every Wednesday. Classes go until 3 p.m.

Team Sports News: We're Kicking Again!

The sun is shining and the time is about to change, so we’re taking signups for outdoor co-ed soccer! Practice starts in mid-March and games will be played through the end of May. Visit the link for more information!

In the Community

... In February, Gladden House served as the site of information session with the office of Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano for neighbors to get answers to their property tax questions ...
